Temperature and WeatherNeptune is said to have the wildest and strangest weather in the entire universe. Its large storms have very strong winds. Also there are dark spots on Neptune's surface that come and go. Also there are many clouds that surround Neptune that rapidly change because of the intense winds. Its average temperature is -353 degrees Fahrenheit. Neptune receives one thousand times less sunlight than Earth does because it is so far away from the sun. Scientists can not figure out how Neptune captures so much energy to have these severe storms.

Melted ice and slush makes up most of the planet Neptune. Neptune's winds can reach speeds of up to 1,500 miles per hour. There is a great dark spot and Neptune, that is actually a large hurricane. The hurricane is the entire size of Earth. That hurricane started in 1989 and was still active until 1994.
